Further Cooperation between China and the Organization of the American States (OAS)

Chinese Ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai, on behalf of the Chinese government, signs two bilateral agreements with Jose Miguel Insulza, secretary general of the Organization of American States at the OAS headquarters in Washington on Dec.12th.  The two agreements are the Second Additional Protocol to the Agreement for the China-OAS Cooperation Fund and the Memorandum of Understanding for Human Development and Scholarships Programs between China’s Ministry of Education and the OAS General Secretariat.

China and the Organization of the American States (OAS) signed two agreements on Dec.12th to further expand their cooperation.

Under the Second Additional Protocol to the Agreement for the China-OAS Cooperation Fund and the Memorandum of Understanding for Human Development and Scholarships Program, the Chinese government will increase its pledge for the cooperation fund and increase scholarships.

China have promoted high-level exchanges between China and the OAS and taken an active part in OAS activities. Chinese people look forward to sharing opportunities with the Americans and contributing new dynamism to world stability and development.
