Wang Yixun
Asia Society China Representative
Yixun (Freda) Wang has been the Chief Representative of Asia Society China Office, based in Shanghai since 2005. She has been managing project development, fundraising, and government relations for Asia Society in China. With her tenure, Yixun Wang initiated and implemented several signature global projects for Asia Society, taking place in China since 2000.
Between June 2000 and December 2004 she was the co-founder and managing director of M&E China Inc., a converging media content and software provider, invested by Singapore Infocom Investment Corp. from the Singapore Ministry of Information, Communications and Arts.
Between 1995 and 2000, she served as the chief corporate representative of Dow Jones Shanghai Representative Office, concurrently she was the managing director of Dow Jones TV Group China and vice Chairman of Dow Jones Shanghai Consulting Inc. She initiated one of the major groundbreaking media projects for Dow Jones in China, the first syndicated business magazine television show in China, which was co-produced by Shanghai TV and broadcasted by local TV stations across China.
Between 1990 and 1994 she was the director of international business development for TV Art International, Inc. based in New York and between 1989 and 1990 she was a project manager at The Center for US-China Arts Exchange at Columbia University in USA. Between 1982 and 1987 she was an officer at Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture in China.
She has been associated with Asia Society since 1995, and was a global council member of Asia Society between Year 2000 and 2006. She has been a council member of China Reform Forum, a think tank in Beijing since 2000.
She holds a master's degree in Intercultural Management from the School for International Training of World Learning Inc. at Brattleboro, Vermont, USA and holds a bachelor's degree in English from Shanghai Foreign Language Institute, China.
